Nam Kiwanuka is co-host and producer at TVO and is currently hosting and producing a podcast for TVO on women's health called: (MIS)Treated. She also contributes columns to TVO.org and has been published in the Globe & Mail and the Toronto Star. She has moderated conversations with Jack Dorsey and Margaret Atwood; has moderated the Ontario Leaders Debate for the Equal Pay Coalition; and has interviewed Salman Rushdie, Martin Amis, Colson Whitehead, Dr. Jen Gunter, Esi Edugyan, Marlon James and Walter Isaacson and more. While working in sports and entertainment, she interviewed the likes of Magic Johnson, Britney Spears, Shakira, Allen Iverson, Andre 3000, Pharell, N'sync, Destiny's Child, Solange Knowles, 50 Cent and more. She was the first Black woman in Canada to host a basketball magazine show, NBAXL; as well as host a magazine show celebrating Canada's football league, CFL Crunch. She was a guest host for BET's Madd Sports and shot a pilot for CNN International. Nam is a strong advocate for women's healthcare and has volunteered with the Canadian Red Cross, Journalists for Human Rights and AMREF. Nam was born in Uganda and lived in a refugee camp in Kenya before moving to London, Ontario and has also worked with Sportsnet, MuchMusic and the BBC’s Focus on Africa. She's a recipient of TMU's Alumni award, is an RTDNA Canada winning columnist and has been nominated for numerous awards.
